I retired from NC State University after 31 years of extension, research and teaching in vegetable crops on December 31, 2010. I loved the work and the people I worked with. I now keep busy doing consulting and contract research. I have hands on expertise in corn, cotton, peanut, soybean, tobacco and many vegetable and fruit crops. The vegetable crops include tomato, pepper, eggplant, cucurbits, Irish potato, beans, sweet potato, greens, lettuce and several greenhouse vegetables. I have expertise in Strawberry and Peach production. Over the last fifteen years of my career I worked with tobacco farmers who were interested in diversifying into vegetable and fruit crops. Prior to Extension was a VISTA volunteer in Iowa and worked for five years as a fieldman for Green Giant Company and was responsible for product procurement and production. I enjoy working with people who like grow vegetables and fruit Bill grew up near Salisbury, Maryland. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and University of Delaware.
